Defence system
Defence system is ongoing project inspired by human psychic, exploring the issue of psychological defence machanisms invented by Sigmund Freud. The easiest way to definde them is as unconscious ways of avoiding and reducing the potentially threating feeling and emotions like fear or anxiety. On the one hand they are necessary for proper mental balance, but on the other hand, when they are used excessively, can be a source of mental problems.

The project is an attempt of visualization these states. This work has a personal character. It is a part of the process of realization of the unconsciouses and consciousness of the existing state. This topic applies to every human.

BIO
Maciej Ślaski born in 1995 in Warsaw, Poland, currently based in Gdansk. Intermedia student at Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts. His works balance between creative and documentary photography, mostly inspired by science. Especially interested in simplification of forms of expression, psychology and gender roles.
