Escape from the Museum of Zoology

Civilized states are willing to finance museums where you can see rare species of fauna. Special decorations, high quality stuffed animals, made by the best craftsmen. For each exhibit the natural habitat is recreated. But while the number of beautiful zoos, botanical gardens and natural history museums increases, for the inhabitants of wildlife there are fewer and fewer places left; many of them are on the verge of extinction.

“Escape from the Museum of Zoology” series is an attempt with the help of artificial combination of natural and museum space to draw attention to the problem of animals and birds extinction. Ani Zur places pictures of stuffed animals taken in museums in those landscapes that are their natural environment, raising the question of the civilization development consequences and the balance between research activities and efforts to safeguard wildlife.
