“In the summer of 2009, I traveled to Europe.
I wanted to see, with my own eyes, that ordinary lives of people with no connection to me actually existed.
But it turned out that, for me, these lives were extraordinary.
Every day, I left my room, went out and came back.
It was a small trip of its own.”
This book documents Emi Fukuyama’s 2009 trip through France, Germany and the Czech Republic. In a way typical of her photographs, when famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower appear they’re in the deep background. The emphasis is on the atmosphere of these places.
