White City – Black Desert / Black City – White Desert is a journey across historical and contemporary fault lines, ideologies and conflicts. The book is a reflection on time, a journey into different architectures and through desolated landscapes, based on photographs taken by the artists over the course of the last 10 years: from war torn Kabul to revolutionary Cairo, from The White City in Tel Aviv to the black rain over Hiroshima.

The megalomaniac monuments in The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, the Roman ruins in Lebanon and the delirious sci-fi visions of the former Soviet Empire in the Caucasus. The syntax itself resembles a ruinous architecture, splitting and breaking along the words, the hyphenation and the punctuation.
