In this project, the photographer attempts to capture a rather authentic and simultaneously mysterious inception of our reality. Facing the struggle between human and nature, his work evolves around the limits of man’s adaptation to his surroundings and vice versa.
The profound ‘reality’ in the use of analog film provided by the authenticity of the colours, the composition and the constant experiment with different techniques, is paramount for this specific project. This photography series presents people and nature as a whole, unseparated. Two pieces of the same world that complete one another.
Polyvios Kosmatos lives in Greece and works as a physics teacher in a High School of deaf children. It was around the time his Master’s Degree studies in Paris, when the current urban scenery caught up with him and the few first images came together. With his return to Athens he studied Photography in a private School by winning a scholarship in a photographic contest. Since then he has experimented with different ways of technique and dealt with numerous themes. He shoots mostly film and grows through his camera lens day by day.
