In 2013 Sebastian Haslauers Leica minilux was smashed on the floor by some drunk who didn’t want to be photographed and lost the last of its seven lifes. An enduring love affair with this robust piece of craftsmanship (he tenderly called it “Panzerauge”) sadly came to an abrupt end.

Skeptical about any form of digital image, Haslauer took the minilux everywhere he went for almost 10 years, capturing peculiar moments, his loved ones and odd scenarios on 35mm film. Being a painter and illustrator, he took this photographs without any artistic intention, putting them in a carton box, where they sleeped until Aaron Fabian recently digged them out. “Floats” is a personal selection of Aaron Fabians favorite images in this archive. Sebastian Haslauer now photographs with an Iphone.
